Brazilian machinery and equipment sector ends the 2021-2023 biennium with a record USD 246.1 million in international businesses

The results were obtained in more than 33 commercial promotion actions, including 19 international fairs and 8 Business Rounds, over the last two years, focusing on exporting machinery and equipment

The Brazil Machinery Solutions Program, result of the partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery Builders´ Association), ended the 2021-2023 biennium with a record number of new businesses and optimistic projections for the coming years. The partnership, which began in March 2021 and ended in July 2023, had 33 international commercial promotion actions, divided into 19 fairs, eight Business Rounds, six of which were face-to-face and two remote, five Image Projects, and one forward-looking mission.

Aiming at establishing strategic partnerships with the main players in the international market and being present at key events for the sector, the program supported 158 Brazilian companies that had the opportunity to present solutions and services aimed at different segments, such as agriculture, mining, plastics, food processing, textile, among others. Totaling USD 246.1 million between new and expected businesses over the biennium.

“These were two years full of significant achievements, with outstanding participation in the main global showcases, that exceeded our expectations concerning Brazilian companies. During this period, BMS dedicated itself to strengthening the strategic position of the Brazilian industry, promoting its presence in all continents and expanding trade relations in priority markets, in addition to boosting innovation, following the latest trends and technologies that impact the production chains of the sector”, says Patrícia Gomes, Chief of Foreign Market at ABIMAQ.

Thinking about an assertive expansion in the highest priority markets for the machinery and equipment industry, actions were promoted in countries that stood out for their high commercial interest and business potential or for their ability to focus on the segment of interest and spread visibility of Brazilian participation. The main focus was the Americas region, which had events in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, United States, Mexico, Paraguay, and Peru. However, BMS also invested in the other 4 continents: in Africa, it was present in South Africa; already present in the Asian market, in Iran; in Europe, it reached Germany and Italy; and, finally, it was in Australia, in Oceania.

With the end of this biennium, the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program already has its eyes on the renewal for the next calendar, from 2023 to 2025, and, therefore, the structuring of the new partnership has already begun. “In this next phase, we intend to insert new agenda, which will be a differential compared to the last project. Among them, the fight against the lack of female representation in leadership positions and the promotion of gender equality in the Brazilian industry. We will also emphasize the development of export potential in the North and Northeast regions in Brazil, aiming at expanding business opportunities and strengthening these locations. In addition, we intend to adopt an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) agenda, aiming at addressing environmental, social, and governance matters in a way to boost sustainability and corporate responsibility among companies in the sector”, she details.

“We thank all partners, clients, and employees who made these achievements and success possible. Our commitment to excellence and innovation remains firm and we hope to further strengthen the potential of the Brazilian industry”, concludes Patrícia Gomes.

Rise in exports: machinery and equipment industries close first half year with over $132m worth in business

With a 26% growth compared to the year 2022, the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program (BMS) promoted Brazilian companies in the mining, textile, machinery and tools, plastic, packaging, agribusiness and food industries in 12 different initiatives ranging from fairs to international business rounds

As a result of a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (The Brazilian Machinery Builders´ Association), the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program (BMS) has just announced a balance of its international business results for the first half of 2023.

Throughout this period, the BMS promoted Brazilian companies in the mining, textile, machinery and tools, plastic, packaging, agribusiness and food industries in 12 different initiatives ranging from fairs to international business rounds that reached the equivalent to USD 132.4 million, which exceeded expectations, and recorded an increase of 26% compared to the 12 month-period of 2022.

“Last year, we reached USD 104.8 million. Within the first six months of 2023, we had already conducted specific negotiations worth USD 33 million and USD 99.4 million are estimated for post-event periods, as a result of our international agenda”, contextualizes Patrícia Gomes, Foreign Trade Director and Manager of the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program.

They participated in six international fairs – IPPE (US), Colombiatex de Las Américas (CO), Expomin (CL), Interpack (DE), Nampo Show (ZA) and ITMA (IT) –, a prospecting action during Iran Agrofood (IR), two business rounds with foreign buyers from the mining and agribusiness segments – and three Image Project actions – carried out during the Brazilian fairs Plástico Brasil, Agrishow and Expomafe –, all of which covered by international journalists, who were able to witness the potential and competitiveness of the Brazilian industry.

Brazil in the world: BMS crosses borders of four continents

The companies part of BMS that participated in the actions promoted by the industry-targeted project stood out in four continents.

“The debut of our international agenda, in January of this year, took place in North America, when 10 companies were exhibitors at the International Production & Processing Expo, in Atlanta (USA), and reached over USD 25 million worth of exports”, details Paulo Guerra, Commercial Promotion and Institutional Relations Manager at ABIMAQ.

In South America, two events are worth mentioning as they surpassed all market expectations: Colombiatex de Las Américas, also held in January, in Medellín (CO), which received nine representatives from the national machinery and equipment industry for the textile sector and transacted a total of USD 5.6 million (a 48.5% rise compared to 2022); and Expomin, a mining fair, which was attended by over 1,200 exhibitors, including 12 Brazilian companies that showed their solutions focused on Energy, Mining Technology and Machinery Industries, among others, and achieved a milestone of USD 11.6 million worth of international businesses.

In Europe, the participation of seven companies at Interpack, the world’s main fair for the packaging industry, was the highlight. The fair took place in Germany at the beginning of May. The event attracted participants from many countries, even though its strategy was to strengthen relationships with European and Latin American markets. On that occasion, 384 meetings were held with buyers, and businesses were estimated around USD 15 million.

Crossing the continental border, the Brazilian machinery industry is also projecting USD 8 million in business after the Nampo Show, the largest agricultural fair in Africa. “During the fair, the Brazilian companies supported by the BMS met 96 buyers from different African countries, such as South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, in addition to European nations, such as France and England. These countries represent important markets for the Brazilian agro-industrial sector”, explains Paulo Guerra, Commercial Promotion and Institutional Relations Manager at ABIMAQ.

Closing the half year and finishing the four continents, the executive shared details of his trip to Iran’s Agrofood. The event that took place in June, in Tehran – Iran’s capital – was coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) to receive Brazilian representatives. “The 30th edition of the Iran Agrofood was very special. After our previous participation in 2018, we saw that even after five years the fair remains vital for local economy. In the case of BMS, as a representative of the industry-focused project that focuses on the machinery and equipment industry, I may say that the sector has earned a large space at the event with excellent business possibilities in the packaging, food and agricultural segments”, he concludes.

Companies linked to the BMS Program estimate USD 6 MM after the world’s main textile fair

In the first half of 2023 alone, companies in the sector supported by the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program (BMS) handled more than USD 11 million

Avanço and Delta Máquinas Têxteis represented Brazil at ITMA 2023 – Textile and Garment Technology Exhibition – the most important fair in the world for textile machinery, raw materials, fabrics and clothing, held in Milan, Italy, from June 8 to 14. With the support of the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) program, the result of a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Industry Association), the presence of companies in this strategic event strengthened the country’s position as an important player in the global market and boosted exports in this sector: the equivalent of USD 1.7 million in negotiations were carried out and a further USD 4 million is forecast for the next 12 months, totaling around USD 6 million in international business.

For Fábio Kreutzfeld, CEO of Delta Máquinas Têxteis, the results exceeded expectations. “We are very happy with everything that ITMA 2023 has given us. We serve 19 countries and 40% of the visits resulted in proposals. In addition to specific deals, we also have a forecast of new closings in the near future. The event, as a whole, provided us with the opportunity to see great friends and customers again and achieve very positive numbers!”, he says.

According to BMS export data, one third of more than US$ 66 million achieved in 2022 through international business was destined for Europe, mainly Germany, Italy and Poland, which together imported the equivalent to US$ 21,154 million in Brazilian textile machinery and equipment – which is approximately 32%.

“Europe is considered one of the birthplaces of haute couture. Cities like Milan, which will host the event, Paris and London, usually stand out worldwide when it comes to fashion. Therefore, the demand for new technologies to support this industry is so latent”, Paulo Guerra contextualizes, Manager of Institutional Relations and Commercial Promotion at ABIMAQ.

More than USD 11MM traded in the last six months

ITMA 2023 was the second event supported by BMS during this semester. In January, nine companies of the program also visited Medellín (CO) to participate in Colombiatex de Las Américas. At the time, USD 778,400 were traded during the fair and USD 4.9 million were expected for the coming months, with countries such as Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Mexico, in addition to Colombia itself.

Therefore, over USD 11 million in exports is expected mainly to Europe and Latin America.

Silvio de Paiva, Commercial Director at Avanço, sees participation in ITMA as a strategic showcase for the entire chain involved in the textile sector. “Our export market is aimed at Latin countries, but this is a fair visited by everyone, so we always do business with new customers,” he says.

“As much as ITMA took place in Milan, Italy, most of our contacts at the event were with countries in Latin America. Increasing our partnership with these markets is the focus of our company”, completes the CEO of Delta Máquinas Têxteis

ITMA attracted thousands of visitors, including professionals, experts and decision makers from the global textile industry. The participation of Brazilian companies in the event, with the support of BMS, reinforced the country’s commitment to position itself as a reliable and competitive supplier, contributing to the growth and development of the textile industry both in Brazil and in the international market.

Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program counted on the attendance of seven exhibiting companies at Interpack, the world’s main fair for the packaging industry;

The event attracted participants from many locations, but its strategy was to strengthen relationships with European and Latin American markets

The Brazil Machinery Solutions Program, resulting from a partnership between the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association (ABIMAQ), has just announced the results of the successful participation of seven Brazilian companies in Interpack, the main world fair for the packaging industry, which occurred at the beginning of May in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Besides Europe, we also did business with countries in Asia and Africa, such as China, Korea, India, Egypt, Ghana and Trinidad & Tobago, in addition to countries in Latin America, where we already have a strong position, doing business with countries such as Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and the Dominican Republic”, completes Paulo.

According to a survey carried out with the above-mentioned seven Brazilian companies, 71% of the exhibitors reported that the results of the fair were better than expected, highlighting the great potential for growth and expansion, as well as the importance of the national pavilion presence at the event. Focused on Circular Economy, Resource Management, Digital Technologies and Product Safety, there were more than 2,800 exhibitors and 143,000 visitors at the event – a great success for Brazilian entrepreneurs, being essential for the establishment of new partnerships.

Carried out by BMS, the International Business Round helps promoting exports and reaches revenues 213% higher than projected; more than 500 meetings were held during the event

Projections for machinery and equipment exports in the agribusiness industry are positive for the next 12 months. After the International Business Round held early May, during the 28th edition of Agrishow, the largest agricultural technology fair in Brazil, the estimate is of USD 47 million in business, being USD 6.67 million during the event and other USD 40 million expected throughout the next year.

These data were disclosed by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, which resulted from a partnership between ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association). The dynamic counted on the participation of 56 Brazilian companies and 15 buyers from 10 countries.

“These data show the resumption of agribusiness negotiations, which started at last year’s event, in addition to reinforcing the credibility of Brazilian technologies focused on the industry. The fair as a whole broke estimates records, concerning the audience and revenue. In line with Agrishow, the business originated in the International Round also exceeded initial expectations by 213%,” says Paulo Guerra, Commercial Promotion and Institutional Relations Manager at ABIMAQ.

In total, more than 500 meetings were held. On the occasion, attendees could enter into trade agreements with players in markets such as South Africa, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Ghana, Hungary, Nicaragua, Peru, Kenya, and the Dominican Republic.

Export promotion

In addition to the International Business Round, BMS promoted the participation of foreign journalists for the international coverage of Agrishow 2023. Brazilian automation industry stands out in the Latin and African markets under the eyes of female specialists in the sector

The Image Project, carried out by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) program, brought a trio of female journalists to Expomafe, with the aim of deconstructing the paradigm of a predominantly male sector and promoting Brazil’s competitiveness worldwide

The Program Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) – resulting from a partnership between ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – strengthens its commitment to promoting the domestic automation industry to the world. During Expomafe, one of the largest fairs in the segment held in Brazil, which took place between May 9 and 13, the entity brought a trio of female opinion makers from Colombia, Peru and South Africa to learn about the potential and the innovations of the Brazilian industrial automation manufacturing sector.

This year, the initiative – known as Image Project – has shown a new and important bias: strengthening female presence with sector specialists, represented by journalists Valentina Toro, from Revista Manufactura Latam (CO), Karina Pantoja, from Correo (PE), and Michelle Gumede, from Business Day (ZA).

“In addition to improving the international perception of the potential of national industries, the presence of three female journalists, from different cultures, who carry different stories and a lot of knowledge, was a strategy designed to deconstruct a paradigm. Worldwide, the automation sector is mostly dominated by men. We needed to bring a new perspective”, explains Patrícia Gomes, Chief of Foreign Market at ABIMAQ.

The initiative is even part of the guidelines of the new presidency of ApexBrasil, which aims to promote gender equity in the industrial sector. In line with this proposal, BMS decided to take concrete measures to promote inclusion and diversity, recognizing the importance of female representation.

The trio’s countries of origin were also chosen strategically. “We considered the target markets with which the Brazilian industry wants to strengthen and reinforce the relationship. For this, we spoke with the members of the BMS Program, carried out market studies and understood the priority destinations. This is how we found our guests, who came from South Africa, Colombia and Peru”, completes Patrícia.

By highlighting the national automation industry for the Latin American and African markets, BMS strengthens Brazil’s position as a reference in this segment, presenting innovative solutions and advanced technologies.

BMS supports thirteen Brazilian companies at the largest African agricultural and technological fair

Nampo Show happens in South Africa and is considered an entry way for business with the African continent

Thirteen Brazilian machinery and equipment sector will attend Nampo Show, in South Africa, from May 16 to 19. The action was promoted by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, supported by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil ), in a partnership with the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association (ABIMAQ). The event is considered the main Agribusiness fair in the African continent and the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2023, its theme is “Agriculture Innovated” and it is expected to attract approximately 80,000 visitors.

At the occasion, the companies will also have the opportunity to connect with potential local partners: a business round promoted by BMS. For that end, a specialized matchmaker looked for buyers that will attend and showed interest in getting to know Brazilian products.

“This dynamic promises to be an excellent opportunity to establish strategic partnerships and increase the business relations between the two countries. We are expecting about 40 meetings that are estimated to lead to US$3 million, in addition to deals closed during the event. We are looking forward to the results of this promising meeting”, highlighted Paulo Guerra, Commercial Promotion and Institutional Relations Manager at ABIMAQ.

Brazil and South Africa maintain a good business relationship. This is reflected in the 99.3%-increase in machinery and equipment exports recorded in 2022. In addition to South Africa, other African countries have a high demand for Brazilian machinery: BMS data shows that Angola increased exports by more than 107%, Zambia grew 137%, and Sudan was the most prominent in this aspect, 2045% more in 2022 against 2021.

In this scenario, the companies Allbiom, Balanças Açores, Baldan, CASP, Cimisa, Eirene Solutions, Inroda, Kepler Weber, MagnoJet, PVT Agriculture, Reafrio, São José Industrial, and TKA Crane will represent our industry’s technological potential at the Brazilian Pavillion, with innovative solutions for the Agro-industry.

“It is important to stress that the African market is one of the most expanding markets in economic terms, representing a great opportunity for Brazilian companies. Thus, our presence at the Nampo Show is crucial for us to establish strategic partnerships”, Paulo Guerra added.

Brazil Machinery Solutions estimates USD11.6 million in machine and equipment exports after Expomin

12 Brazilian companies received support from the project, presenting solutions for the mining segment in the BMS pavilion

The Brazilian machinery and equipment sector estimates USD11.6 million in exports for the mining segment. The projections became possible after participation in the Expomin fair, which took place in Santiago, Chile, at the end of April. Of this amount, about USD1.5 is from trades conducted during the event, while the remaining USD10.1 million will be invoiced over the next 12 months.

The data are from the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, the result of a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association), which promoted the participation of 12 Brazilian companies during the event: BGL – Bertolotto & Grotto Ltda., Comet do Brasil, Grupo OIRAM, Máquinas Furlan, Mineral Technologies, Neuman & Esser, NETZSCH, Porta Cabos, Prensso Máquinas, Semco, Thermoval and TKA Cranes.

“Before Expomin, we already had good expectations around exports to the mining sector, mainly because the host country is a relevant showcase for the Latin market, the second largest importer of Brazilian machinery and equipment for the segment and one of the 10 largest investors in mineral extraction. In addition, due to the new public discussions on lithium exploration and the new free trade agreement between Chile and Brazil, expectations about the growth of the mining and imports sector are good”, says Paulo Guerra, Manager of Institutional Relations and Trade Promotion at ABIMAQ.

For four days, the mining event was attended by more than 1,200 exhibitors, who presented solutions aimed at the Energy, Mining Technology, Industrial Machinery sectors, among others, to 58,000 visitors, including professionals who contributed to the development of business in the sector. In addition to Chile, the countries contacted for business include Peru, Argentina, Germany, Bolivia, Colombia, and the United States.

News and highlights of the Brazilian companies presented throughout the fair can be found at https://rb.gy/qwlqd.

Machinery industry projects USD 15 MI in international business during Agrishow 2023

This Event will receive specific dynamics offered by the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program (BMS), and aimed at promoting exports; in total, 15 buyers coming from 10 countries will meet with more than 60 Brazilian companies participating in the International Business Round

From May 1 to 5, the city of Ribeirão Preto (SP) will host Agrishow 2023, the largest agricultural technology fair in Latin America and one of the largest in the world. On the occasion, around 60 Brazilian manufacturers of machinery and equipment targeting at this sector and 15 buyers, including distributors, representatives and final importers, coming from 10 countries in Latin America, Africa and Europe, will participate in an International Business Round. The initiative seeks to reach the equivalent of USD 15 million in concrete deals.

The round will be conducted by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) program – the result of a partnership between the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association (ABIMAQ) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), and will promote around 450 meetings, providing companies with the opportunity to close potential deals, strengthen commercial relationships and access specific markets in South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Belgium and Hungary.

“We are resuming face-to-face business rounds at Agrishow after a three-year break, due to the pandemic, and our expectations are extremely positive, but cautious. We believe that the goal of USD 15 million in exports is feasible, if we consider that in the last edition, in 2019, we brought together 52 Brazilian manufacturers and 15 potential buyers from eight countries, which totaled approximately USD 33 million in business carried out during and as a result of such dynamics, emphasizes Patrícia Gomes, chief of Foreign Market at ABIMAQ.

According to BMS data, in 2022, Brazilian exports of agricultural machinery and equipment reached USD 1.7 billion, 33.6% more than in the previous year. South America continues to be the main region of destination, corresponding to 58% of the segment’s export basket. In this period, it totaled US$1.02 billion in traded volume, after a 37% growth in relation to the previous year. Brazil’s more intensive action in South America is natural, considering the strategic work with neighboring countries. However, regions worked on in the Business Round, such as North America, Africa and Europe, show significant growth. In 2022, exports to North America increased 23% compared to the previous year, adding up to US$ 258 million, while Europe, with a growth of 29%, totaled US$ 157 million, followed by Africa, which after a growth of 45%, totaled US$ 139 million in Brazilian exports of agricultural machinery and equipment.

For Patrícia, these destinations are of great importance, as in addition to being the most competitive markets for the Brazilian industry, they opt for models with advanced technology and affordable prices. “It is also worth mentioning that, specifically in the case of Africa, Brazilian machinery operates in the cerrado region, which has similarities with the conditions of the African savanna”, she adds.

In addition to the Business Round, Agrishow will host the Image Project [Projeto Imagem], which will bring together journalists from vehicles covering Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, to cover the event. The initiative, also carried out by the BMS Program, aims to promote Brazil’s image abroad through the international press.

It is estimated that Agrishow 2023 will receive more than 150,000 visitors, with the participation of approximately 800 exhibiting companies. The fair will highlight the latest technologies in agricultural machinery and equipment, in addition to presentations of lectures and debates on the sector.

Europe seeks Brazilian solutions for the development of packaging industries

With the support of the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, seven Brazilian companies will present machines and equipment at Interpack 2023; the German fair will bring the main trends in technology and innovation for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial, and other sectors

Attentive to the resumption of European demands, seven Brazilian representatives of the machinery and equipment industry for the packaging sector will participate in Interpack 2023 – the world’s largest fair for this industry, which takes place from May 4 to 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The action was promoted by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, the outcome of a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association).

“With a strategic focus on contact with Brazilian companies and other Latin partners, our presence at this event, which is considered a global platform and reference for the packaging industry, reinforces the importance of the Latin American market for European companies. In addition, it is an excellent opportunity to seek commercial partnerships in Europe, strengthening our presence in the global market”, notes Patrícia Gomes, chief of Foreign Market at ABIMAQ.

According to data surveyed by BMS, in the last five years, international business carried out between Brazil and Europe transferred more than USD 67.3 million to this market. A quarter of this total was concentrated in the host country itself: in this period, the Germans imported the equivalent to USD 17.3 million in Brazilian solutions. Between 2018 and 2022, Italy and Spain also stood out, with amounts close to USD 10.7 million and USD 6 million, respectively.

“When we analyze the export scenario to European countries, we see that 2019 was an excellent year for companies operating in the packaging industry. However, in 2020, due to the global crisis that was spreading – because of the pandemic –, the international business directed to this continent suffered a sharp drop, from USD 24 million to a little over USD 8.6 million”, details Patrícia.

The executive explains that the market began to react between 2021 and 2022. “Last year, we reached approximately USD 12.7 million in business, especially with Portugal, Spain, Germany, and Turkey, which, together, totaled more than USD 6,8 million”, she notes.

Strategic partners in Latin America
The data on exports to Europe are shy when compared to the Latin American reality. Within the packaging industry segment, in the last five years the equivalent of USD 716 million in international business was carried out to this destination. Only in 2022, the exports amounted to USD 183.7 million.

“Doing business with Latin American countries is facilitated by the geographic proximity and by the existence of commercial agreements that favor the exchange of goods and services between nations in the region”, contextualizes Patrícia.

Also, in accordance with the survey carried out by BMS, Latin America has been the main destination of Brazilian machines and equipment, and Argentina saw an increase by 99.6% in 2022 in relation to the previous year. Mexico, in turn, saw its imports grow by 5.1% in the same period. Chile and Paraguay totaled, respectively, an increase by 5.1% and 55.8% from 2021 to last year, which confirms the large volume of business between Brazilian and Latin American countries.

Brazilian companies in evidence at Interpack 2023
During the event, the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program will support the companies Ariete, Delgo Metalúrgica, Equimatec, Tecnor, PFF Inova, Pak Mak, and Varpe Brasil. Among the main novelties to be exhibited, we note a line of presses for cutting seals with 100% recyclable material, equipment with Flex Feeder tube feeding system, X-ray inspection systems, double track packaging machine with feeding system with magnetic movers, end-of-line automation solutions, box sealers, automatic line for the production of food products, and others.

The fair will also address relevant themes for the industry, such as sustainability through circular economy, preservation of resources, digital technological innovations, and security assurance of items sold – all aimed at varied segments such as food, beverages, bakery and confectionery, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, non-food products, and industrial products, contemplating the entire value chain in a single location.

We note that in previous editions, Interpack counted on significant participation of foreign visitors, according to data disclosed by the event organizer: more than 74% were from outside Germany, coming from approximately 165 countries. Among them, Europe was the continent with most participants, due to the geographic proximity (56% of foreign visitors from countries of the region). Asia was the second continent with more participants, accounting for 16% of the international public. North and South America, in turn, represented 14% and 10%, respectively. Finally, Oceania, Africa, and the Middle East complete the list with 2%.

Exports of Brazilian machines and equipment gain international visibility by means of the BMS Program

The third edition of Plástico Brasil took place from March 27 to 31, 2023, in the São Paulo Expo pavilion. By means of the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program, which results from a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association), 28 Brazilian member companies presented their solutions for the plastic industry – in all, the fair gathered approximately 51 thousand visitors and more than 800 large brands of the entire plastic production chain, which presented the latest news and global trends of the industries involving production of the material.

During the event, the Imagem Project (created by the BMS Program) brought the foreign press to promote and announce the Brazilian machinery and equipment industry to the international market, through the visit of opinion makers and experts, who come to Brazil to learn more about the opportunities and the differential of the domestic plastic industry.

For this edition, journalists from Colombia and Mexico were invited to cover the fair. During Plástico Brasil, the Imagem Project assisted international journalists in covering the great highlights and technological trends presented by the companies. This presence is important to reinforce Brazil’s position as an important player in the plastics industry, and to strengthen even more the commercial relationships with other countries”, notes Paulo Guerra, Commercial Promotion and Institutional Relations Manager at ABIMAQ.

Brazil Machinery Solutions promotes 1st International Business Round – Mining

Unprecedented initiative in the industry will bring together national companies with Argentine, Chilean, and Colombian buyers

Next March 15 to 17, the city of Belo Horizonte, in Minas Gerais, will host the 2023 International Business Round – Mining. It is an unprecedented initiative, which will bring together 22 Brazilian manufacturers of industrial machinery and equipment for the sector and seven buyers, among distributors, representatives, and end importers, from Argentina, Chile, and Colombia.

Promoted by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program – which originated from a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association) –, the purpose of the action is to promote the export of domestic machinery, solutions, and technology for all processes that involve the mining chain, emphasizing the quality and competitiveness of our industry.

“In addition, this is the first international round dedicated to the mining industry. The action is a strategy to diversify the actions of BMS with the companies of this industry”, adds Patrícia Gomes, Chief of Foreign Market at ABIMAQ.

The choice of the countries of origin of international buyers is totally strategic for the members of the program and participants of the round, once 87% of the companies signaled their interest in meeting with potential buyers from the Argentinean market, 91% with those of Chilean origin and 83% with those from Colombia.

We note that only in 2022, Brazilian exports of machinery and equipment for the mining industry totaled approximately USD 688 million, 25% more than in 2021 (USD 550 million). In the ranking of the top 10 countries that imported most from Brazil last year, within this context, we find the United States, Argentina (2nd), Chile (3rd), Mexico, Germany, Peru, Colombia (7th), Paraguay, France, and Canada, in the respective order.

Still in 2022, Argentina totaled approximately USD 83 million in international business with the Brazilian industries, 48% more than 2021 (USD 56 million). The country accounted for 12% of the total Brazilian exports over the last year for this vertical.

Chile, in turn, imported the equivalent to USD 57.6 million in machinery and equipment from Brazil in 2022, representing 8.4% of the total exports of the market. The total imports are 40% higher than that reached in 2021, when the negotiations amounted to a little more than USD 41 million.

Among the three countries that are part of the delegation of buyers, Colombia stands out for presenting the greatest variation in the amount of imports, in the comparison 2022 x 2021, with a 91.8% growth. Last year it amounted to approximately USD 26 million, while in the previous year it totaled USD 13.5 million. In relation to its share in the exports made by Brazil, the country accounts for 3.8% of the total for the mining vertical.

“We further note that in the month of April, we will take representations of the national machinery and equipment industry to the XVII Expomin, the main event of the mining industry in Latin America. It will be another opportunity for us to show our differentials, modernity, and technical capacity to the whole world”, notes Patrícia.

Brazil increases the volume of business involving machines and equipment by 48.5% after a Colombian event

This is a result of deals that happened during Colombiatex, which happened in Medellín, Colombia. Nine Brazilian companies presented machines and equipment focused on the textile market, through the BMS Program

The Brazilian industry of machines and equipment for the textile sector generated USD 5.6 million in foreign deals during the 2023 Colombiatex de Las Americas – a 48.5%-increase against 2022. The event, held from January 24 to 26, in Medellín, Colombia, made history a few times: attendance record, with 27,000 participants, in addition to 523 exhibitors, and 18,000 buyers from over 40 countries.

Manufacturers Albrecht, Audaces, Castilho, Comelato, Delta, Inarmeg, Laudatec, Porta Cabos, and Socio Tec attended the event as exhibitors at the Brazil Pavilion, supported by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, a result of the partnership between ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association).

Out of the total amount announced, USD 778,400 is from negotiations during the fair, and USD 4.9 million are future business estimates with countries like Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Mexico, in addition to Colombia, the host. In 2022, the total sales revenue was USD 3.8 million, out of which USD 1.2 million was during the event, and another USD 2.5 million are in estimates for the 12 months following the fair.

“We initiated the agenda of international trade in Latin America with an excellent prospect for the export of textile equipment. During Colombiatex, being mindful of the main global concerns, our industry, together, presented the most innovative and sustainable items manufactured in Brazil, reaffirming its commitment to the reduction of environmental impacts, focusing on the circular economy”, Patrícia Gomes, ABIMAQ’s Foreign Market Officer, stresses.

OVERVIEW OF EXPORTS IN THE MAIN LATAM DESTINATIONS

The host of the event, Colombia, is the 5th main destination of Brazilian textile machines and equipment exports. In 2022, the country’s imports from Brazil amounted to approximately USD 2.7 million, an increase of 82% against the previous year, representing 4% of the industry’s national exports.

Businesses with Ecuador have increased by 52% against 2021, totaling more than USD 2.5 million. Peruvian imports brought approximately USD 1.6 million to the Brazilian industry in 2022, a 22%-increase considering the same period. As for Guatemala, it went from USD 1.1 million to USD 1.5 million, an increase of approximately 40%.

Additionally, bilateral agreements between Brazil and the Dominican Republic have also been positive for the textile industry. Currently, the country is the 12th main export destination, and in the last five years it has increased by 271% the value of business with Brazilian manufacturers. Just last year, sales revenue totaled USD 1.2 million, 122% more than in 2021.

This constant exponential growth also includes Uruguay, which increased imports by 174% from the Brazilian industry in 2022, totaling USD 518,600, and Venezuela, which, in light of an incipient economic recovery, traded USD 119,300, an increase of 20% against the previous year and of 3,963% against the past five years, when the total was of USD 2,900.

“The data indicates a totally positive and promising scenario for our industry in Latin America. The resumption of on-site events and activities, which was already timidly happening since last year, is likely to stimulate exports even further during 2023, and the LATAM market continues to be one of the main destinations of Brazilian machines”, Patricia concludes.

Brazilian machinery and equipment industry reaches USD 25 million early in the 2023 international agenda

According to the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, exhibiting companies reached a total of USD 16.2 million in closed sales, on top of which a turnover of USD 9.2 million is estimated for the year after the IPPE fair

The machinery and equipment exports sector had a positive start to the 2023 international agenda. Following the Brazilian participation in the International Production and Processing Expo – IPPE, which took place from 24 to 26 January, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, turnover is expected to reach USD 25 million.

USD 16.2 million of this figure is from deals made during the event, while the remaining USD 9.2 accounts for the estimated turnover in the next 12 months. The data is from the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, which comes from a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments), and ABIMAQ (The Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Industry Association), who took ten national companies to exhibit their innovations at IPPE 2023. IPPE is considered the world’s largest exhibition of technology, equipment, supplies and services used in the production and processing of eggs, meats and poultry, as well as the manufacture of animal feed. This year’s edition, the 75th, was notable for its strong Brazilian presence in this and other sectors.

The figures are the result of deals for Brazilian exports with countries of strategic business focus throughout Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and the USA, who is the event’s host.

“These regions are essential for the exponential growth of Brazilian machinery and equipment exports. Because this is the first event on our international calendar, the volume of business at IPPE was satisfactory and will have a strong impact on the industry’s results throughout the year,” explains Paulo Guerra, Head of Institutional Relations and Trade Promotion at ABIMAQ.

The event was attended by the Brazilian companies Farenzena, Fornari, HighTech, Ibraflex, Lenke, Plasmetal, Tecmaes, Torfresma, Usitec Triel, and Vantec. With significant operations on the national market, these companies presented their new products including machines, equipment, and solutions at the Brazilian Hall, which was promoted by the BMS Program.

The USA is the second largest market consumer of animal protein in the world, currently accounting for a 12% share of exports. The relationship between the two countries is mainly due to differences such as low-cost machinery, high efficiency, and the credibility of the Brazilian animal-protein sector.

Brazilian industry introduces sustainability and circular economy solutions for the international textile market

At Colombiatex, companies will present machines and equipment capable of significantly reducing fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and smoke, which will increase productivity

Represented by manufacturers Albrecht, Audaces, Castilho, Comelato, Delta, Inarmeg, Laudatec, Porta Cabos and Socio Tec, the Brazilian textile industry will be present at Colombiatex de las Américas. The event, which takes place in Medellín, Colombia, between January 24th and 26th, is the main business center in this sector and is the start of the fairs agenda in Latin America. This edition will feature more than 500 exhibitors and 12,000 buyers.

The presence of these nine companies was promoted by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, a partnership between ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association).

BRAZIL AND COLOMBIA PARTNERSHIP

Colombia is the fifth main destination for exports of Brazilian textile machines and equipment. In 2022, Colombian imports brought around US$2.7 million to Brazil, a growth of 173% in the last five years. Also in 2022, the buying country represented 4% of the Brazilian export market, which totaled more than 66 million dollars for the sector.

Since 1980, the fair has been presenting some novelties related to textile products, leather goods, the apparel and footwear industry, as well as fashion designers, with a forum on trends and the promotion of the printing market for stamping. In addition, Colombiatex has the knowledge pavilion, where exhibitors attend conferences with specialists from different countries and can discuss the challenges of the fashion industry.

BRAZILIAN COMPANIES AT COLOMBIATEX

Denim Day, a tribute to one of the most relevant and representative fabrics in recent years, will take place on the 25th. Being aware of the importance of this subject, the participating Brazilian companies have developed solutions that guarantee the quality of delivery and management of the denim process, with extensive integration of data and information in real time, in addition to sample washers, which represent substantial savings in water and energy.

Sustainability is another relevant agenda promoted by the event. This edition’s goal is reinterpreting processes and reaffirming the commitment to reduce environmental impacts, focusing on circular awareness. This concept combines economic development with a better use of natural resources, through new business models and the optimization of manufacturing processes, depending less on virgin raw materials and prioritizing more durable, recyclable and renewable inputs.

Considering the sustainable agenda, the Brazilian industry will present air-to-air heat exchangers, which recover the heat taken from the atmosphere and use it to heat fluids used during production. This equipment reduces fuel consumption by 20-30%, lower CO2 emissions, increase working speed and reduce smoke production by 30%. The air-to-water heat exchangers, in turn, generate hot water from waste gases and reduce smoke by 50%.

Also, in the context of reducing environmental impacts, fabric inspection machines, relaxing machines and continuous preparation and bleaching lines will be some of the key equipment, such as the continuous washing line, which is one of the solutions with the lowest water consumption per kilo of fabric.

Automation is an essential factor, as it makes it possible to overcome the lack of specialized labor in the industry. In this regard, Brazilian companies will bring some innovations: they will present a pocket sewing machine with automatic feeding, capable of producing 2,000 units in 8 hours, with only one operator, and a 2×1 automatic transverse sewing machine, with immediate change of bobbins, useful to manufacturers of towels for the common market who want to manufacture them for the hotel sector.

The Metaverse will also be part of the trends presented by Brazil at Colombiatex. An immersive experience in the virtual universe, based on 3D software created for stylists or fashion designers, as well as paper cutting plotters and other digital modeling programs, will be offered. Another great novelty will be the 3D digital catwalk, for pieces of clothing that stylists and pattern makers will be able to create directly on the computer, with the purpose of bringing technology to digitize even more the clothing processes in the Colombian market, from creation to production.

Brazil generates USD 4.5MM during EIMA 2022

BMS Program promoted the participation of seven Brazilian companies at the Italian fair

EIMA 2022, the largest precision agriculture exhibition in the European continent – and second most important for agricultural and gardening machinery worldwide –, took place from November 9 to 13 =, in Bologna, Italy. At every edition, over 1.900 organizations from 50 countries present over 50 thousand models of machines and equipment for all sorts of agricultural operations.

At the Brazil Pavilion, companies Eirene, São José, Guarany, Indústrias Colombo, Magnojet, NB Máquinas, and Vence Tudo exhibited their machinery and equipment, presenting the Brazilian technology to visitors from all over the world. The action was promoted by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, a partnership between ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Association).

During this edition, the Brazilian participation led to substantial results. Considering new deals only, the companies totaled USD 750,000, projecting USD 3.75MM for the next 12 months. Additionally, exhibitors brought sustainability as one of the main pillars of their products and releases.

Having sustainable raw materials and the safety of agricultural workers in mind, Guarany developed new lines of spraying products. Among the products launched at the fair, the Katu Line is worth mentioning. Developed from a green plastic from sugar cane recycling and bearing the “I’m Green” seal, it is designed for several gardening and agricultural applications. The Balance W line sprayers bring more comfort and safety for women’s work in the field and reduce the effects of weight due to the prolonged use of the product.

In turn, MagnoJet presented its MUG, MUG-SI, MUG-CV, and APS spraying tips, which provide greater sustainability and safety during herbicide application. The technology used in the ultra-thick tips reduces the potential risk of spray drift and the amount of agrochemicals used in crops.

São José presented the Ripper Scarifier of 5 to 31 rods. This equipment breaks the soil compacted layer for a better development of roots and use of rain water, reducing the environmental impacts and maintaining the organic matter in the soil.

With cereal seed seeders, Vence Tudo presented a system in which these machines are designed and set up to work on untilled soil, that is, the agricultural producer is not required to prepare the soil and spend fuel, avoiding the overuse of herbicides. Thus, no-till planting protects the soil, saves water, and reduces the use of herbicides.

Brazilian technological innovations will be highlighted at EIMA 2022

BMS Program promotes the participation of seven Brazilian companies in the Italian fair, the second most important on the European continent

EIMA International 2022, which runs from November 9th to 13th, is the largest international exhibition of precision agriculture on the European continent and the second most important for agriculture and gardening machinery. Each year, the fair hosts entrepreneurs from more than 60 countries in Bologna, Italy, in a 375,000 m² space. At each edition, more than 1,900 companies from 50 countries exhibit more than 50,000 models of machines and equipment for all types of agricultural operations.

This year, the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS), a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery Builders Association), promotes the participation of Colombo, Eirene, Guarany, MagnoJet, Nogueira, São José and Vence Tudo, which will showcase their main products and technologies at the Brazil Pavilion, sponsored by BMS. The purpose of the initiative is to provide visibility of Brazilian agricultural machinery to European and Latin American countries that will be part of EIMA.

Guarany, which has been exporting for over 40 years and has a production capacity of over 15 million pieces of equipment per year, wants to consolidate its brand and promote their complete solutions during the fair. “During EIMA, we seek networking with new players in the global market to improve our penetration in the main five continents, and we expect to increase the share of exports by 10% of the company’s annual revenue”, says Alida Bellandi, president of the company.

Among the products showcased this year by the company is MGA – Mini Cold Aerosol Generator. This equipment was specially developed for urban pest control, including mosquitoes that cause diseases and vectors of epidemics. Portable, it can be placed in the bodies of small pickup trucks for urban and rural spraying. In addition, it can be used in facilities such as manufacturing plants, condominiums, parks, public buildings, culverts, and in places of difficult access such as material deposits and dumps, among others.

Eirene, in turn, will introduce SAVEFARM, a selective spraying system using artificial intelligence and cameras, which identifies the type, size and shape of plants, spraying only where necessary. “This is a world innovation, being one of the only spraying systems in the world to use cameras commercially, and already sold on a large scale in Brazil”, points out Eduardo Marckmann, CEO of the company.

MagnoJet seeks the brand’s entry in the European market. The company is also looking for distributors in multiple European countries and sprayer manufacturers from the continent. Among the products they will showcase at the fair is the MUG – Magno Ultra Grossa spray nozzle with a technology that reduces 1% of the derivable drops, which makes it the safest tip for hormonal herbicides application.

São José brings a scarifiers line, which guarantee great efficiency in soil decompaction. As Marketing coordinator Daniel Ribeiro explains, currently the biggest problem for rural producers is soil compaction caused by large machines, which prevents good root development, directly impacting production. “This equipment brings the solution to this problem, working directly to break up the compacted layer, helping root development and, as a result, providing greater productivity”, he concludes.

Vence Tudo seeks networking, benchmarking and participating in commercial meetings with importers present at the fair. According to external salesperson Luiz Henrique Thielke, the company aims to break into Asia and Eastern Europe. “We intend to enter these markets through the international visibility that EIMA will bring to our brand, allowing us to prospect potential customers”. At the fair, the company will showcase promotional material for no-till seeders and platforms for corn harvesting.

According to Patrícia Gomes – Director of External Market of the Brazilian Machinery Builders Association  (ABIMAQ), this is a highly anticipated moment, especially as a result of the resumption of face-to-face  events. “Agrishow 2022 gains even more relevance for the sector due to the challenges we have had in the  last two years. The visibility that the event offers its participants – both exhibitors and the public – is  essential for the resumption of business and prospects for the export of agricultural machinery and  equipment”, she explains.

IMAGE PROJECT: SUPPORTING EXPORTS FOCUSING ON SOUTH AFRICA, KENYA AND THE NETHERLANDS

The Image Project will take place during Agrishow 2022. Its goal is to promote and disseminate the Brazilian  machinery and equipment industry to the international market, through the visit of opinion leaders and  experts who come to Brazil to learn more about the opportunities and the local agricultural machinery and  equipment sector. The initiative is developed by the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program (BMS), with  support from the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), in partnership with  ABIMAQ.

This year, Image Project welcomes journalists from South Africa, Kenya and the Netherlands.

“Among the target markets of Image Project, South Africa stood out. Exports to the market increased by  140% in 2021 compared to the previous year, totaling US$37.1 million”, explains the Director of Foreign  Market at ABIMAQ. The most commercialized products for this destination were: Sprayers for agriculture or  horticulture (41.6%); Combined harvesters with threshers (15.4%); and Tractors with engine power  between 37KW and 75KW (5.1%). In addition, Brazilian exports from the agricultural machinery and  equipment segment to the South African market show a constant flow, having reached in 2021 the highest  volume in the historical series of the last 5 years. “In terms of South Africa, the Image Project’s objective is  to support the consolidation of Brazil’s image as a supplier of high-tech agricultural machinery and  equipment”, he concludes.

With regards to Kenya, exports grew 15%, totaling a volume of US$2.4 million in 2021. More than 50% of  the value exported to the destination is concentrated in the highlighted product basket: Tractors with  power between 75KW and 130KW (23.9%); Ploughs (17%); Seeders-spreaders (14.7%).

In terms of trade with the Netherlands, the 90% growth measured in 2021 resulted in the highest volume  exported in the last five years: around US$970,000, with emphasis on products classified as poultry farming  machinery and equipment (30.6%). Parts of machinery for agricultural, horticultural or forestry use, for soil  preparation or work (25.3%); and threshing machinery and equipment (23.5%).

“Kenya and The Netherlands are key destinations for us to promote Brazil as a reference in the supply of  agricultural machinery and equipment. In view of the respective growth observed in 2021, we believe that  Brazilian exports to both markets have the potential to rise to a higher level”, concludes Patrícia.

Members of BMS trade USD 39 million in four events

International fairs had the participation of 38 Brazilian machinery and equipment manufacturers

The last four fairs supported by Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) resulted in approximately USD 39 million in deals made and expected to be closed in the next 12 months for the companies that were present in such events. Andina Pack, Agritechnica, Feira K and Extemin were events that took place in the months of September, October and November and had the participation of 38 manufacturers that are members of the BMS Program.

“The sales numbers during the fairs show how the efforts made by Brazil Machinery Solutions and the companies that are members of such program pay off. The image of Brazil as a manufacturer of capital assets has becoming stronger day after day. That is extremely positive for the industry”, says Patrícia Gomes, Foreign Trade CEO at Brazilian Machinery Builders’ Association (ABIMAQ) and Manager of the BMS Program.

The most recent fair was Andina Pack, which took place in November 19-22 in Bogotá, Colombia. It gathered 20 Brazilian builders of machinery for the plastics and packaging industry. USD 2.2 million in direct sales were made by the companies to customers visiting the event and by means of 142 matchmaking activities promoted by Apex-Brasil.

Expectations for the next 12 months reached USD 9 million in trades, showing the importance of the fair to the industry. Buyers interested in Brazilian products were originally from Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, México, Argentina, Panama, Guatemala, Uruguay and the United States.

During Andina Pack, the BMS Program hired a dedicated press office to promote Brazilian companies in the Colombian media. The image creation initiative resulted in the insertion of pieces into 10 media vehicles of broad reach in the Colombian press, leading to a positive repercussion of the event. Results of the earned media amount to USD 6.4 thousand.

Agritechnica came before Andina Pack, in November 10-16, in the city of Hannover, in Germany, and nine Brazilian companies were there. The agribusiness fair resulted in USD 5.6 million to the participants. Manufacturers expect to sell USD 7.2 million more in the next 12 months, based on the business contacts they made with buyers from markets such as Ukraine, Russia, Germany and other 15 countries.

October

Feira K was another event hosted by Germany, in the city of Düsseldorf, in October 16-23. Three Brazilian manufacturers of machinery and equipment for the plastics industry made USD 4.5 million in trades during the fair. The companies expect to close up to USD 7.3 million sales deals in the next 12 months. International buyers are from nine countries, including Spain and Portugal among others.

September

In September 16-20, Extemin, one of the most important mining fair, took place. Six Brazilian companies made USD 840 thousand in trades. Expectations for the next 12 months are of USD 2.5 million more in deals for the manufacturers. Besides closing deals and prospecting for opportunities, Brazilian businesspeople made 111 new contacts with international buyers from Peru, Chile, Czech Republic, Colombia and Bolivia, as well as from Brazil.

Brazilian companies represent the country at the K trade fair, one of the largest events in the plastics industry

BMS supports the presence of the Brazilian delegation at the event, which takes place in Germany

On October 16-23, the Fair K will be held in the city of Dusseldorf, Germany, bringing together over 3,000 producers and buyers of the plastics industry to learn about the main innovations in the market. The Brazil Machinery Solutions Program (BMS), the result of a partnership between the Brazilian Association of the Machinery and Equipment Industry (ABIMAQ) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), will be present at the event.

In this edition, the Program will support the participation of three Brazilian companies: A. Carnevalli, Lakatos, and Mecalor Soluções. The machinery sector for the plastics industry is among the main sectors of activity of the project. In 2018, the Sectoral Chamber of Machinery and Accessories for the Plastic Industry achieved more than $45 million in exports.

For companies, this is an opportunity to show their products to the foreign market. According to Edson Favato, Carnevalli’s director, even with the participation in other editions of the fair, the support of BMS is paramount this time. “It is crucial, since it is the biggest fair in the industry. This partnership allows us to take the latest technologies we have produced, as well as our development engineering,” he explained.

This is the first time Lakatos, formerly Electro-Forming, participates in an international event with the new brand positioning. According to Roberto Lakatos, the company’s director, this will be a great opportunity to reaffirm the name in the market. “It is important to consolidate our trademark as one of the important players in the manufacture of machines, molding, and thermoforming solutions,” he explained.

Mecalor is the only Brazilian company in the refrigeration segment to participate in the event. “Our products have received excellent acceptance in demanding markets, such as the European and North American, which has increasingly motivated the expansion of the company’s operations around the world,” concluded the chief commercial director Marcelo Zimmaro.
